About Me

The first thing I must say is what I actually never say. I never say for myself : I’m a DJ, producer, musician… None of that. I simply just love music. And here’s how it all started.

Back in 1992.My older brother came home from school carrying a mixtape with some music and some unknown performers. He played Del The Funky Homosapien – Mistadabolina and he told me that the reciting is called rap. The very same moment I got hooked on it.  I almost forgot. At the time, I was only 11 years old. He told me that this reciting is called rap. Later researching, I found out about a much broader term- hip hop. And that’s how collecting cds started. There were so many times I didn’t eat in school, so that I could buy a tape, later a disc.

Of course, as I was growing up and maturing, I got to discover other types of music. Jazz, for example. My grandmother was a jazz and evergreen singer in the 50s and 60s so maybe that’s got something to do with it. Although, I don’t consider genres relevant anymore. What’s left is just music.

A more serious thing started in 2007 when I met a Brazilian man by the name of Gil Vicente Rodríguez aka DJ GP, who ran a worldwide crew Global Grooves Collective. I became a member of GGC and released a series of Pleasure of Diggin compilations   as well as a disco compilation “Knockin’ on 54”, a solo release, and “Knockin’ on 54 vol.2” alongside DJ GP. Also, there is the project called “Cosmic Soul Syndicate Presents Interstellar Soul: The Final Chapter”. It is also a double CD compilation, with five people from different parts of the world: Brazil, UK, USA and Serbia, representing two teams: Global Grooves Collective and The Blak’s Lair Family.

In 2009, via Twitter, I discovered Laid Back radio from Brussels, where I earned most of my credibility. I sent them some of my music and started working with them as a part of the pick of the week team. At the end of that year, also via Twitter (Twitter has really helped me get far) I have discovered a mixcloud where I started putting my mixes up and by the end of 2010 I was at a proud 32nd position out of 100. Of course, so many things have happened that I can’t even mention them all. It was Space Invaders where I started with being a guest in shows, and today I have my own show, Sounds and Things, of which I am terribly proud. Apart from Space Invader and Laid Back radio there were other appearances on radio, mostly in UK (DeJa Vu fm, UK Jazz radio, NE1fm) as well as Croatia (Radio 057, Zadar) and others.

This year I started to get noticed in Serbia, so the site partyclips.net published an article on my 32nd position on mixcloud. Soon an appearance on B92 TV followed, as well as podcast on pixelatique, crowned, in a way, with my act on Exit Festival. Two more projects I am especially proud of are TomE vs Vlada Stojanovic – LDBK International Sound and Best Of First Five. First one is a cooperation with TomE from Zadar on a mix presented on Laid Back radio’s mixcloud profile. We all know that Serbia and Croatia do not have a great history in the last 20 years and TomE, a great friend of mine, and myself, wanted to show that music really connects people. The second project, Best of First Five, is a compilation of one of my favourite labels,Trust In Dust records from Brighton, UK, for their fifth anniversary.

And that’s that…for now. Follow me on Twitter, Mixcloud…not on Facebook, because I disabled my profile. And of course, follow the news here.
